We had legitimate questions about whether or not our certificates would actually be refunded (given the fact that the upgrade had actually initially cleared) had we gone ahead and boarded the flight. I don’t have a whole lot of trust in Delta’s CS being able to properly trace and resolve something like this in a timely manner, had the certificates been marked as used.
We chose not to board knowing that the next flight would be leaving in just over an hour with available seats.
Nothing ‘amazing’ about wanting to be sure and save ourselves a potential future headache.
