The DL/VS code share was mentioned simply because my DL flight also had a VS number.
“SkyTeam rules do not require that status give lounge access on a purely domestic itinerary” , then this is a significant issue that will persuade me to continue/revert to BA Gold instead of Virgin Gold.
In that case the agents were fully in the right. BA Gold gets you lounge access when flying AA domestically in the US; no SkyTeam status does the same for flying Delta domestically.
