These would be the 4 properties in our budget, never been to Cancun or Playa Del Carmen mostly travel to Colombia and Costa Rica.
Ideally, we’d like to be able to go and explore outside the resort for food, nightlife, dancing etc. but having also having the All Inclusive doesn’t hurt for the days we want to stay on site.
I found the GH PDC to be a very convenient walk to the nightlife and restaurants in town. I did very little eating on property, PDC's restaurants are very budget friendly. My experience at the all inclusives is that I don't ever leave. I have not stayed at either Thompson in PDC but those may also fit your needs
