I am happy to see it continue - I wipe down my seatbelt/touch points anyway. But I also always carried a sanitizer wipe in my pocket before covid. People being nasty isn't anything new.

It does at least give that initial interaction and focuses a crew members attention to the boarding passenger. On a few American flights last week the only interaction or eye contact when boarding was a "Hold on" while the other flight attendant handed out PDBs on one flight.
