I dunno. Plenty of Americans will benefit from this promo during their overseas vacation. Hyatt is the company that often ties promos or extra promo benefits to the credit card. Not sure that Marriott ever does that?. As I said earlier, I think they are just targeting those markets with promos where they perceive a need to stimulate business. I don’t think their motivation is to offer something to those without access to credit cards.
