Was affected by the IT problems on June 15 as well and now I've got a total mess:

1) Booked a one-way HEL-HKG for 80,000 points plus what seems like the new fees & taxes (220 EUR per person). For some reason was charged 0 points in my transaction history.

2) Then started booking a one-way BKK-HEL. Was first shown 80,000 points when starting the process, then suddenly it was 95,000 in the last step. Proceeded anyway since the system was so buggy and I just wanted to make sure I get in my booking before midnight. Here as well seem to have been charged the new fees & taxes (175 EUR per person).

3) When I realized that they had probably overcharged me on the fees & taxes, I decided to use the leftover points they had not charged me for flight #1 for booking a third flight. That kind of seemed fair compensation to me at the time...

Looked into my account today and realized they now did charge flight #1 after all, meaning I have now overdrawn my points balance. Seems like I now have two options:

A) Ask them to correct all the points and cash charges. Then I won't have enough points for flight #3 though, so they will probably cancel that for me or I need to purchase additional points.

B) Hold still, fly my three flights and then kind of "walk away" from my negative points balance as I have no desire to keep using Finnair Plus after that. Don't know if they will hold me accountable though? More likely, since the three flights are not until next year, they might contact me in advance and threaten to cancel one of my flights if I don't settle my account.

Looking to understand what you would do in this situation. Thanks!
