Very strange diversion for DL837 (ATL-HNL) 6/18

This is one of the strangest diversions I have EVER seen. ATL-HNL diverts to SEA when over Arizona. Why on EARTH would you fly to Seattle, when you're CLOSER to PHX, LAX, SAN, and SFO? And on top of that, add hours to the HNL flight for those passengers by flying due North?

The only thing I can come up with is they knew they would need a replacement crew and they had one in SEA but with the luxury of making such a decision, why need to divert in the first place-seems like little to no urgency.
