How are you comparing “capacity booked”?
I’ve been seeing rates higher throughout 2023 vs 2022 across all the major US cities I’ve booked. Primarily LA, Chicago, NY, Miami.
The only places I’ve seen rates lower year on year is San Francisco (dramatically) and DC (marginally).
At the same time I wouldn’t say EMEA rates are particularly low going into Q3/Q4 either.
I posted the major cities I’m using for my stays which aren’t LA, Chicago, Miami, or NYC…
As for hotel capacity that’s easily analyzed by -
1) Hotel pricing
2) Upgrade Availability
3) Asking at Check In “Is the hotel fairly busy”
4) Visibility of other guests, pool busy or not, elevator wait times and so on.
I would say all of these are large factors which give an accurate picture.
One could definitely make the argument that EMEA will be much busier than the US or Latin America during this season. At the same time as stated above a 2x promo is just a slap in the face, even more so when it requires an initial stay.
