seemed very strange to me, too. maybe there were ground delays at AMS and all three flights came at once even though they were originally spaced out.

LCY has airport provided ground agents, so there is no reason why BA will be treated any differently to KLM. On another day I imagine a KLM passenger will feel irked that some home advantage is being given to the BA service. Usually LCY is among the most efficient baggage handling airports and the airport didn't reduce staffing levels so much during the pandemic. Plus the checked baggage workload there isn't going to huge given small aircraft and not so many leisure travellers. I doubt there is a structural issue here.

OK, I'll accept that I was simply unlucky on Friday and that it has nothing to do with BA. And maybe it was because I had always heard LCY was a super fast airport to get through. It just seemed strange that three KLM flights that arrived after our BA flight were serviced first. But maybe that's cuz (speculating) they were already delayed a bit and the airport was trying for a quick turnaround and trying to help out those who had already been inconvenienced.
