I will second that. Yesterday, I needed to change an AAirpass reservation, which they will only allow me to do by talking to an agent. If I could do it myself, like normal reservations, I would have.

So I called the EXP line and got a young woman who, in my estimation, knew nothing about AAirpass and spewed some nonsense to me that I could never change an AAirpass reservation. I got her to tell me she was located in Mexico. Was a Saturday afternoon at 1PM Pacific time. I had wasted 45 minutes for the call-back.

Reminded me of pandemic times again. The whole phone response on EXP is variable. I could get a helpless agent like yesterday, or, sometimes, I would get a CK agent, who, obviously, knew what she was doing. Made me resent more why they couldn't have made me CK long time ago. All I ever wanted of the airline was to simply answer the phone.

How did I problem solve? I politely said "g'day", hung up, checked to see if my changes were available on the schedules, signed in on my account, cancelled my current Airpass reservations, and made whole new ones---all with the comfort of my computer. . Was a lot less stressful after i got my act together and did that.

I don't know what's gong to happen to us lifetime AAirpass flyers when they end the program next April 2024. They say they are going to roll us over into a UATP type account, which, theoretically, we can manipulate for ourselves very well. I'm apprehensive, but will hold my breath. Currently, they chased me all the way over to United as a GS this year, with their Pass Plus offer to purchase $50K travel.

Has worked out pretty well. Man, those guys answer the phone, I still have to fly UA, but it's got pretty good service out of the Bay Area, as opposed to AA's non-stop choices, which have gone into the tank, out of SFO. The GS perks at SFO aren't bad, like our own private screening line after the GS desk. Free CLEAR, free WiFi on UA, and free GS status for my wife.

Sum up: If EXP were worth a dam, they would simply answer the phone. It's all I are about. I'd pay a premium for it, if that's what was for sale. The phone wait times are unacceptable, and I think they know it.
