Bear in mind flashy priority tags that airlines add to bags are useless in and of themselves, and were created to make those loyal customers in premium cabins feel special. What tells the baggage system to load bags to allow for a faster arrival delivery is all in the barcode and usually the bad tag itself will have 'Priority" in small print to remind check in agents to attach the vanity priority tag, usually orange or yellow. As many have noted best be happy your bags arrived with you on your flight. In a perfect world, priority bags would always arrive on the carousel first. but the reality of delivering these bags fast in an environment of chronic understaffing, broken/overstressed baggage systems, and a handful of other unforseen factors make for consistent baggage delivery disappointment.
