I have about an 8 hour layover in SIN so I was planning on getting a room at one of the transit hotels. However, I have a few questions that I am hoping those with experience with CX and SIN can help answer:
Both of you will be fine.

Anyone with recent experience with this?

2. Assuming I can check the bags through, will CX issue a boarding pass for the SQ flight?
You are probably referring to https://www.cxagents.com/content/dam...I)_Summary.pdf, which is for printing boarding pass, not for through-check bags. Even if boarding pass cannot be printed, bags can still be through-checked.
