A useful feature I like is the detailed train itinerary, which you can see if you click on the train shown after selecting an option following a route search. During my travels today, I wanted to check the itinerary of the train I was on, only to find that this is now blocked in the free version. A pop-up appears saying the full list of stations is a premium feature.
It seems to have happened overnight, since yesterday it worked fine.
Edited to say: I miss the good old Hyperdia days!
The free version of the Japan Transit (Jorudan) app lists all the stops on the route that you search.
