Most of the “big deal” is that it was accessible for 70k or 80k AS miles one way, which is a relative bargain when you could be looking at far more to fly LH F, BA F, EK F (and now JL F using AS miles).

Certainly it’s become a very long in tooth hard product now that it’s been around for over a decade and products like EK “game changer” F or latest SQ Suites have completely lapped it. Still nice to have a wide bed that doesn’t force your feet into a cubby though. (Having flown CX F and QR J QSuites I tend to think J is J and F is F, but it’s a reasonable argument that a very modern and slick J might be to one’s taste more than an F product you’ve flown a ton but hasn’t seen a hard product refresh in ages.)

Airlines like BR and JX in the region are investing in their hard product and modern planes, I’m quite curious if CX is going to keep F long term or perhaps go to a J+ model like BR.
