Actually that’s not what the disclaimer is for. BA do have priority baggage service, at least on longhaul, with dedicated bins for premium customers. What they don’t do (unlike some other airlines) is include status customers in lower cabins - theirs is based on seated cabin only. That’s what the disclaimer says.
Agree with you on the tags though - it’s entirely for show. The bin allocation is set by the barcode on the label, not a coloured tag.
