Marriott Resort Mega Complex in Miyazaki

Introduction The Sheraton Grande Ocean Resort is located north of Miyazaki city in a resort complex called Seagaia. This hotel is popular with families booking it out on weekends and public holidays. The hotel has many facilities you can think of including a golf course, tennis courts, public onsen facilities, fitness room, and many more. Check In Check-in is directly at the club floor, so no need to go to the lobby reception. The agents received my request and granted both. We got a club floor room and 2 bedroom suite. The Bonvoy benefits are all clearly laid out. They have a nice plated cocktail hour, as well as snacks from after breakfast time. They explained about access to the public bathing facilities as well. We got our breakfast coupons here too. Room The hotel's main areas are all recently renovated, although non-club rooms are not. I recommend asking for the club level room, which they confirmed with us a few days before check in on the app (titanium) The other room we requested the 2 bedroom suite. The room descriptions on the website are not great, so I recommend calling to make sure you know what suite you are booking into. This suite had a king bedroom, and 2 twin beds in the same living area. Since the suite was big enough for everyone, we asked to cancel the club level room which they were able to do. They did charge an extra person fee of 5,000 yen per night which was more than reasonable. This covored lounge benefits and breakfast for them. Although the suite was not rennovated, it was very large and had sweeping views of the resort grounds and ocean. All rooms are ocean view as the hotel was designed with this. The suite had 2 bathrooms, though we didn't use them much as we opted to do the public onsen to baith. The dessert goes FAST so make sure you get in while there is good selection. The lounge itself is rennovated and very nice with plenty of ocean view seats. The breakfast spread at the resturaunt was HUGE, it's really more like brunch. so many western and asian options. The Japanese selections were excellent with an rice ball station with salmon or local Miyazaki beef Delicious. Service One of the main draws of this resort is the public bathing facility. This complex is a little walk from the room, but its pleasant with nice views and calming atmosphere the way there. You have 2 public baths to choose from, as well as private rooms/baths to rent for a fee. The baths themself have an indoor and outdoor section. Very calming. Location The location is fine if you have a car. I reccommend having a car in Kyushu anyway due to the lack of public transportation options compared to other regions in Japan. It's about 20 min from the main city center where all the good resturaunts and shoping streets are, but its worth it to have such great recognition and service. Overall Great find! I feel like food out in the country is way better than the big cities. This hotel is great if you are working your way down the east coast of Kyushu. If I were to come back to Miyazaki, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
