Jon, what type of shoes were you wearing? If they have soles or heels over one inch thick, then they fit the secret TSA profile and must be removed unless you want to go to secondary screening.

If the soles are not more than an inch thick, then you should still go the complaint form route and explain to the screeners before entering the WTMD that your shoes are non-profile or "meet TSA requirements." I've had pretty good success with the latter explanation and am usually not harassed for not taking off my shoes at any airport.
