Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire, AB, Canada [Master Thread]

As I don't see a focused master thread on this property (there was an old comparison thread last updated in 2014), I'll go ahead and start one for the Sheraton Suites in Downtown Calgary. If you like the design of the Sheraton Centre Toronto but wished it was in Calgary in an all-suite hotel, this property has you covered! Here are my pros, cons, and photos:

Pros:
  • Upgraded several weeks before my stay to a "Corner Executive Suite" - as all rooms here are suites, I'm not entirely sure what the actual differences are - but upgrades that far out are always nice
  • The suite is a full suite that is spacious enough (though not massive) and has a cozy design with the same carpet, wallpaper, etc. as the Sheraton Centre Toronto
  • Furniture was relatively comfortable - though, I wish the couch had pillows
  • Bed was quite comfortable with plush mattress, plush pillows, and decently thick covers
  • Shower pressure was decent - though, the size of water flow and size of the shower stall could be larger
  • TVs both had the latest version of the Internet TV OS
  • There were four bedside outlets on each night stand - so 8 accessible bedside outlets
  • Delivered a bag of cookies as a welcome gift - an oatmeal raisin that was fine, but the white cookie was actually lemon flavored and really yummy
  • Offered late checkout proactively - no issue with 3 PM I asked for, and they offered to push to 4
  • The lounge is fine - nothing amazing on the offerings (breakfast only had spinach egg bites - pick the restaurant), and all of the evening options for hot food were Asian (pot stickers and egg rolls) - but the apple cake was pretty good and the hot chocolate and mochas from the machine were yummy - as you aren't restricted to breakfast here, I'll mark it as a pro
  • Very clearly offered the choice of restaurant breakfast as an Elite welcome gift - this is an a la carte offering - entree and beverage - I picked the breakfast sandwich, which was really yummy, and the potatoes were super crispy
  • Service at the front desk was quite friendly
  • They actually did turndown service
  • Old throwback Otis Series 1 elevator fixtures
Cons:
  • Small windows + window coverings that seemed to want to auto-close = the room stayed a bit dark
Overall, I think the Sheraton Suites is a very good option.
