EWR (and other show carnival locations)

When hasn't EWR had an all shoes off policy? I made 4 roundtrips PIT-> EWR (Terminal A UsAir) over the past 6 weeks. Every time, you must take your shoes off.

IAD on 12/17 (Central Screening), same nonsense. Wnen I was doing PIT -> PHX regularly during the summer and fall, same deal@PHX in Terminal 2 (US Air).

PIT, my home airport, is one of the few I have encountered that doesn't require the shoe carnival.

Experienced the same show carnival at SFO and PHL during leisure trips this year.

I used to complain and go through the retaliatory secondary screening when I didn't remove my shoes. Got tired of it and just gave in and started taking my shoes off.

Maybe I should make a New Year's resolution to be less complacent.
