But the other thing people miss is that BA makes as much as they lose in T3. It’s easy to forget but the vast majority of FFP cardholders in the real world don’t follow FT or HfP and don’t know the intricacies. If they fly AA or AY but have a BA silver card, they just go straight to the same BA lounge that they know already.
JAL also direct their J and W passengers into Galleries Club. Qantas tried to turn me away with a JAL W BP recently saying "it says BA lounge here" until I told him "yes and it also says Sapphire here"
