Bear in mind massive double decker buses manage just fine there, a wee SUV will have no trouble.
Am mentioning this just in case OP finds a good deal on a car in the city. I’d take that an just roll with it.
As I said above, the roads themselves are fine. The problem is the traffic, the never-ending works and diversions, one-way systems and trams clogging up the roads in lieu of tram works!
