Forget about MAN for a minute, YYZ is also not a great airport to connect in. You will do US immigration in YYZ which can be time consuming and was IME, a lot worse than connecting at a US airport. I would also check into whether you need to do Canadian immigration and get an eTA too.

In your shoes, I'd train to Heathrow the night before and stay so you're relaxed for your journey.
