I have the same issue being based in BKK with no BA service here since covid. Last year when they discontinued the route they did agree to waive the four flights as they re-routed us from a four BA flight itinerary to a much much longer one with only three flights on BA (it did take a lot of back and forth though!). This year I had to take on a side trip on an existing European trip to get my four flights in
