Question: this is minor in the grand scheme of things, but I have an award ticket from LAX-MAD scheduled for next year. While attempting to changes dates (because availability opened up for a date I like better), the customer service rep is insisting I pay change fee in dollars and not euros. But my T&C specifically mentions 25 eur, which I'm willing to pay, but he wants a flat $40 USD. What kind of exchange rate is that? I was prepared for ~$27 but he says since the flight originates in the US that the fee must be paid in dollars and that it's a non-negotiable $40. Is he right?
