Personally I didn't think the beach side villas were that great. Smaller pool and the beaches were not raked and had a lot of debris. Over water villa if you haven't been in one is worth trying out. It's nice to hop in the water, but the rooms have not been renovated and could use a good sanding on the decks. It's a nice place to have room service on the patio though. Reefside is a fantastic room with large pool, hammock, privacy, and short walk to the lagoon for the snorkeling. More interior space as well. You'll likely be happy in any room you are given.
Awesome, thanks for the advice and pics! You're right, reviewing the map cleared up my confusion. Though, despite already experiencing OWVs at StR Maldives, ended sticking with the sOWV after reading upthread that the beach villas have more bugs/mosquitos (P2 gets wrecked by bites) and her not wanting to move rooms.
Beyond the Air Moana report and early morning arrival, I might also be able to provide an updated DP on transferring directly from StR to the Conrad (which I'm now almost dreading based on recent reports that have painted the property as nearly in shambles with no hot breakfast, no upgrades, and overall poor service).
