As an FYI, I can tell you as a long time Hilton desk agent that no such training exists. In terms of having a photographic memory, some do and it's honestly not that hard to remember names and faces if you try but more than likely the agent looked at the Guest Dossier pop up and from that they can see if you have ever visited their property before and if you did, when it was.
I know this is a long time to respond.... but as I said our last stay was in my name and the other stay was my husband's reservation. We recognized the agent and she was outstanding (we sent feedback). Pretty sure she was not a faking it - if she was that means the IT at hilton is much better than I think it is since they would be able to cross reference additional guest names. If it was that she did a good job of pretending she remembered us!
