AA1664 from DSM to DFW (now) shows one seat in First, and you can connect onto BA192 / AA6949 to LHR albeit in World Traveller.

Ask (i.e. tell) AA you would like to be booked onto that. They are the ticketing carrier and they are also responsible as it's the day of flight and they are the operating carrier.

What's more important? Being back in the UK in which case coach seems to be the only option, or class of travel in which case waiting until tomorrow would fit the bill (and would take the pressure off somewhat)?
