I have a oneworld DONE3 (RTW ticket) and arrive HKG from NRT on CX at 9:20 PM. My destination is TPE and there is a last CX flight at 10:50 PM which is not included in the RTW ticket; I would purchase it separately. Is an hour and a half a reasonable amount of time? Is there a transit desk these days? If the NRT-HKG flight is delayed, would I be protected for a next day flight? I'm planning on carry on only. After Taipei, my departure from Hong Kong is at 4:50 PM. How early should I plan to arrive to comfortably make that flight (I don't mind the lounge or even the restaurants in the terminal.)
Had I realized this was going to be a $400 plus economy ticket I would have spent two segments of my DONE3 on HKG-TPE, And if it is unlikely the above connection will work, I could spend a day in Hong Kong and purchase a ticket from a lower cost carrier. I don't want an early flight where I can't check in to my hotel in Taipei after 3 flights without stopover. Thanks
