I don't understand your point. When you have Capital One points, you can redeem them for cash or travel. I don't see ANY benefits of redeeming them for travel. Are you saying that many people find the portal to offer lower fares than what is available elsewhere? That has not been my experience, but I'll admit my experience is limited to the last year.
