I'm not sure I understand this. Putting aside that it's not really "pedantic", how is it 'revenge' for your colleague to get drunk on drinks that you are paying for. If one is embarrassed by being asked to pay for drinks for a business colleague, I'd assume they'd be embarrassed telling their business colleague to get "royally slaughtered"
