Exec Club Avios Rewards

I wonder if anyone has any experience of this.

I booked a hotel with Booking.con via the BAEC app with an 8/£1 offer.

I am due about 13k Avios as a result of that deal and they are “pending”.

However, they are going to be cancelled as Booking.Com have cancelled the reservation. I’m staying at what is a very service-orientated resort off Singapore who contacted me to say they are at a loss as to why the booking was cancelled and are finding booking.com unusually unhelpful.

The hotel have suggested I re-book with Booking.Com but each and every time I do, there is an error message at the last moment. Obviously the hotel are happy to deal directly and cut booking.com out but are equally happy for booking.com to sort their act out.

The bizarre thing is the hotel have actually charged my card and they say I do have a reservation, but booking.com are telling the Hotel just to deal with me directly and transfer the reservation away from booking.com to a direct deal.

I suspect this is something to do with the avios awards. Booking.Com are not interested and are telling me the room is booked, but they have a “system glitch” and not to worry as the hotel have confirmed the booking as a direct booking and that they are just no longer involved. They are missing the point that I booked with them for the avios deal and cannot care less whether they are waiving their commission with the hotel or not, I just want the avios.

Does anyone know of any other route to solving this or should I give up?
