flyerby...............There are three things at play here, 1) Airline economics, which I and others have tried to explain to you, which has to do with "banks", "aircraft utilization" and other matters, at IST-NYC is their highest frequency long haul flight, and has literally always been their highest frequency long haul flight, I kind of think that they know what they are doing. If they want to do this overnight thing right now, and at least for this season have a "bank" to feed it, they do it. If it works it will become full time. 2) There is past practice, which I and others have tried to explain to you, and lastly 3) There are Intangible's that we can only ponder about.....IS TK able to have a slot the whole year currently? Do they have gate space? Do they have the aircraft available for this flight? While it may seem that they do, Do the a/c coming from this flight make a turn from LHR? BKK? Will it be the same situation in 4 months time? Will they be dumping a dozen A333s from their fleet by then, but only receiving a half dozen 787's and A350's in the same time? Will they be upgrading cabins over the shoulder season? You do realize that TK often down scales the route by at least a flight a day in the winter, right?
