I think this is a great deal! I did the pay myself back thing last year on this card for the AF and it was 35,000 points. I just did it again for this year's $525 AF and it quoted me 30,000 points, but then actually deducted 29,999 points when I went through the prompts. Kind of strange, but I pretty good use of points if you have them to burn and would prefer the cash in hand.
