I’ve repeatedly seen SAS at US airport check-in and at CPH check-in ask for cabin baggage to be weighed. And that’s even when the passengers were using the business class/Star Gold check-in desks. It’s not most times and it’s very infrequent for me, but it’s happened enough times to me even when I am “less stuffed” — less stuffed than usual for my trips on US airlines — that I am sometimes very eager to be able to avoid the land-side check-in desks when flying SAS.
I used to also sometimes run into cabin baggage being weighed at the gate for my SAS flights from LHR.
Sometimes a coat’s best use is that of surreptitiously squirreling away some of the heavier stuff from a cabin baggage item.
