BA107 LHR-DXB 14/06/23 Cancellation Reason and Compensation.

Hi everyone,

I am hoping someone with the available resources can help me with the cancellation reason for the BA107 from LHR to DXB yesterday (14/06/23). My mum was due to fly out from ABZ via LHR and onto DXB yesterday and when she got to the airport she was informed BA107 had been cancelled and they were very unhelpful at getting her rebooked on any of the later flights and by the time they had agreed to help, the only option was a downgrade to WTP and in standby for CW, however at which point there were no more seats on the ABZ-LHR flight (so they had reallocated her original seat already). She had arrived at the airport at 5am too, which is far from ideal to have to turn round again. She is now booked on today's BA107 in original booking class and they have extended her inbound by 24 hours so she has the same amount of time in Dubai with my family, so it is all good now.

I am hoping this is a clear cut case for delay compensation, but knowing BA they will try and get out of it somehow. Am I right in thinking the compensation should be the 600 Euro + 2 x taxi fares (from airport yesterday and to airport today)?
