Just completed my first stay here as part of my mission to try mid-country Hilton properties that are new to me rather than go to the same ones each time!

Overall I really liked it. It was my first ever trip to Blackpool and the hotel is quite far south of the main strip - it took me an hour to walk to Blackpool North station (although Blackpool Pleasure Beach station is very close). There are a number of other non-chain hotels nearby as well as residential streets. It’s on the seafront but separated by both a road and the tram tracks. Hotel is new and exceptionally clean throughout. Huge open plan ground floor, most of which is set up as a breakfast room, part of which doubles for the restaurant and bar in the evening. There are seats outside too.

Like the other hotels around it’s not a high rise. Only 4 floors. My room was overlooking the sea up 1 floor but you can’t actually see the sea or the beach because the room isn’t high enough. Sunset though was amazing.

I think the new rooms pictured above are sold as premium rooms. I had an old style room which was furnished in an identical way to the rest of the UK Hamptons. As usual, good shower, a lot of channels on the TV, wall mounted toiletries, very comfortable. The room had 2 double beds which was unusual but I suspect that families with a couple of small kids book one room. That said the room is really quite small - especially for a property outside London.

Breakfast very generously timed (6-10:30). As usual I got there the moment it opened and food is absolutely cookie cutter UK Hampton breakfast. Nothing unusual but perfectly ok. I was also offered a soft drink and snack at check in. Didn’t use the gym although there is one. One odd thing is that the map on the app (which is used to select room for OLCI) is incomplete. Obviously there has been an extension but my room wasn’t on the map at all!!

I would certainly return. Nice stay and surprisingly quiet and relaxing. I saw when booking that a new Hampton is opening in Rochdale (near Manchester) soon too.
