After a 6 hour AMS connection fiasco between QR and BA last summer where we only just made the flight, I couldn’t bear the thought of a repeat experience and requested the VIP service for the first time, emailing them back in March for two of us flying SQ J this July. At the time I received an automated response promising an answer within 48 hours of departure, but then tumbleweeds…. I politely chased them yesterday with 3 weeks to go until departure, and was pleased to receive a positive and personalised booking confirmation from them within 12 hours. Assuming that Royals don’t filibuster the experience, I’ll report back next month, but it’s worth sharing that a gentle push seemed to help in our case!
