The flight attendant working the front cabin offered every passenger bottled water during boarding, then took drink orders while we taxied. The bloody mary I requested arrived 9 minutes after takeoff, accompanied by three olives speared on a wooden stirrer to lend a little nutritional value. The FA then came around with a basket of prepackaged cheese plates (I passed), then made a second pass through with a basket of snacks (I picked up a bag of brownie brittle) and asked if I needed a refill on my beverage (I said I was fine). He also thanked GS and 1K pax for their business, lingering to shake hands.
It was a phenomenal amount of service on a
40-minute flight... and I guess I should note that Scott Kirby was in 2A. He had what sounded like pleasant banter with the cabin crew during boarding and as we exited, then made his way through EWR, one employee chat at a time. Between two of those conversations, I said hi myself and mentioned how much I appreciated million-miler recognition. The CEO thanked me, then asked where I was from, which gave me an excuse to put in a plug for getting the C/D concourses at IAD replaced (you're welcome, fellow IAD FlyerTalkers).
