My wife and I love Vegas. There's a Harrah's 30 minutes from where we live. I figure worse case scenario, the card pays for a good chunk of a vegas trip once per year. And then as long as they're matching Diamond status--you get the complimentary Bahamas trip too.
Wyndham points also transfer to CET Reward credits at 1:1...........this year they are allowing you to transfer 60K a year now as it's been 30K in the past.
Also Diamond gets a free $100 dinner so get a card for your wife also which also gives you a 2nd room with no resort fees.
Don't forget the Personal Earner card has a 75K bonus right now.
You can pay for rooms ( if not comped) using reward credits which eliminates sales tax.
