I bank my OW miles with AS and should make MVP Gold (Sapphire) next year.

On the other hand, I would like to convert some Capital One miles to Cathay Pacific's FFP so that I can redeem an econ flight in 2024 from Vietnam to HKG. In this case, assuming I really make Sapphire, will I be able to get extra check-in baggage allowance for this flight? I know that the benefit holds for purchased (in cash) flights, but am not sure if it extends to mileage tickets.
