The calculator actually also has a requirement to be correct under the same DOT regulation. However, I agree that it’s going to be a lot trickier to get UA to refund the second bag fee if the receipt is correct. OP should still consider filing a DOT complaint, but I’m a lot less certain about the outcome.....
OP stated the bag calculator was the correct 1 bag
