You also mention you're going to be in the USA for a month so you may be able to pick up some cheap domestic flights and notch up a few 40 TPs per sector that way.
The other problem is that Houston is not an AA or other OneWorld hub so it doesn’t have many nonstop oneworld flights. However that probably means that prices are more competitive for trips starting from there because they’re trying to woo travelers away from United’s extensive nonstop Houston network.
