I wish they'd get their story right. Do they want a high end card that's "exclusive" or do they want something that provides the coupon stuff that makes bloggers say you'll get $1000 value out of a$695 AF?
For me, its just squeaking by at this point. but I think its actually a relatively lousy card relative to other high end cards - for me they provide 3 things that they do provide that a road warrior would value are A) the Skyclub and B) Cent .. maybe, and C) FHR.
IF you fly Delta, then A) can be a big benefit - clearly seen by the long lines and sometimes/often unusable (A) .
IF you fly places that have a cent lounge, and are traveling at OFF PEAK times, then (B) can be a nice benefit.
on C , there's definitely some other costs involved, and its not like they provide the best avg rate, but I think people can find some value there.
For both A&B I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze in many cases, and if you don't have a *need* to grab some well grade booze, you're probably better off finding a terminal restaurant than going spelunking at a coughed on buffet.
Also, re: C I think you can replicate most of that with virtuoso and other programs (w/o added cost as well).
It is frankly offensive for a $700 card, and mentioned upthread that it doesn't provide primary car rental insurance. I mean, c'mon.
