Yes, the 5 day minimum is the catch here. Of course you can nest flights, so you don't have to stay at your destination for the 5 days. Unfortunately double TP is only ex-UK so any nested flight would not qualify.

Essentially you book something like LHR-OTP as a BA holiday to take advantage of the double points, either don't collect the car or collect it and park it immediately, and then nest an OTP-LHR inside it. That would net 480TP and *might* be a bit cheaper, but you'd need to price it up.

If you can start and finish at a UK regional airport, then SOF,OTP, KEF etc net 240TP normally and a holiday would make that 480. You'd just need a cheap flight, which could be a nested economy flight back to LHR to avoid 5 days at your destination.

It would also carry a certain amount of risk, since the tickets are separate contracts. With the operational state of BA at the moment, the risk might be unpalatable.
