Thanks for the reply and information! Very helpful stuff, indeed. To answer the above, we are going to be in town on June 2-4 as part of a stopover to Spain. My kids are tweens and have not been to DC so I thought a day or two in DC would provide them some flavor.

I have tickets to the Capital Tour, Holocaust, and Air and Space museums. I have applied for WH tickets (awaiting the results). The plan is to also include the WM as it is on the kid's list to see. This is, of course, pending the debt ceiling nonsense and the city doesn't shutdown. Fingers crossed!!

Overall, the above has been very helpful in my planning and this is one of the better hotel reply threads on this site - tons of useful and relevant information.

Just wanted to circle back and review the hotel. We have Explorist status and used a Club Lounge pass to access the club for our three-night stay. We booked a two queen atrium view - this is also what we received, though on a high floor. The club was great for the kids for breakfast and apps/dessert and of course, water - no complaints at all, and the staff was great too. It does get a little busy as the room is small, but well worth the time and energy to have various food options for the 4 of us for the 3 days.

Thanks again for the suggestions on Tate and The Smith; wonderful places to eat. I would also recommend RPM Italian, about 10 minutes away, and Ghost Burger for dinners.
