I just opted to keep my Platinum card open for another year. Last year, I upgraded my Gold card to Platinum and this year I got a 20K MR (for $3k spend, low-ish) retention offer. Next year will be the real test. The ROI is there...

With the 20k MR which I value somewhere between $250-300, we are already at $695-250 = $445
My Clear renewal is coming up, and that's $150 - $445-150 = $295
Uber credit easily gets used every month - that's $200 - $295 - 200 = $95
Will get another $200 in United Travel Bank - $95 - $200 = -$105
Use the Entertainment credit for SiriusXM and Disney+ - that's $240 - -$105-240 = -$345
Saks benefit? -$395
Hotel Benefit (if I can use it, used it last year) - $595

Then there's all the other benefits....I think even without the retention offer
