Feel from LGW to Rome on May 18. We did book the tickets through BA.
Landed in Rome, and waited close to 2 hours for bags to arrive, somehow they dropped all the bags for the flight at the wrong terminal. which meant bags ended up coming out in groups of 5 or 6.
Anyway in this time we were trying to talk with ground staff at Vueling, we eventually got them to write an incident report, they staff were saying it wasn't their fault, but the baggage handlers, to me I've paid to get me and my luggage safely from London to Rome. And they failed to deliver on getting the luggage there, luckily there were only a couple of damaged articles of clothing in it.
but as some have mentioned, there's not a real way to talk to someone outside of twitter. We sent them a registered letter on May 24th, which was their instructions. With all the details.
Lucky to some extent we landed in Rome, as we took the case to Rimowa and they wrote it off as unrepairable, as the structure of the case was damaged. We bought a new one and are waiting on the claim to process.
Any thoughts on way's to expedite this, just landed back in the US, after a month away. this happened on day 5.
Should we have gone through BA instead? Is there an EU recovery method like for a canceled flight, In the past I've used air help or something similar to do the flight one, not sure if there's one for damaged luggage.
