I also cancelled my platinum card earlier this year after many years as I struggled to get value out of the card and just gave up. I think the tipping point for me was the endlessly over-crowded Centurion Lounges. I actually departed the LAX CL after a 5-minute stay and traded for a more relaxing 2-hour wait at the gate in TBIT.
