Did you apply as a Sole Proprietor using your own First and Last names as the business name -or- did you apply using a company name? If you used a company name have you registered it with your state or local government so that Chase can verify it from public records? If you applied using an unregistered company name Chase will typically reject the application, but it sounds as if Chase found a bankruptcy record for a company with a similar name.

I applied as a sole proprietor, using my first and last names as Business Legal Name, and company name as Desired Business Name - same company name as printed on my existing ink cash card. That company name was never registered anywhere.
I also thought that the bankruptcy record (the source of which is Dun&Bradstreet) is for a company with same or similar name, but I hesitate to call recon for fear that it might affect the ink cash card.
