You may or may not be entitled to compensation. The delayed arrival gives raise to that but is not sufficient by itself

The reply from Lufthansa is a bit newspeaky but they are essentially saying that the delay is caused by 3rd party and they could not prevent it, therefore no compensation is due.

In your place, I would ask them for more details and evidence of the cause of delay per Article 5, Paragraph 4. If they don't reply to your satisfaction, involve www.soep-online.de
